What is Certified Hand Therapy?

Writer: Tiffany McIntoshTiffany McIntosh

Are you experiencing an injury or problem with your hands, arms or wrists? Certified hand therapy may be an option for you! Certified Hand Therapy is when a therapist helps people who have injuries or problems with their hands, arms, or wrists. These therapists are experts in how the hand and arm work, and they can help someone feel better and move their hands or arms more easily.

They teach exercises, give advice on how to take care of injuries, and sometimes use special tools to help someone heal. They are called "certified" because they’ve passed special tests to show that they know a lot about how to help people with hand or arm problems. Think of them like a coach for your hands and arms, helping them get strong and work better again after an injury.

Occupational Therapist, Amanda Reardon is a Certified Hand Therapist here at Carlisle Place Physical & Occupational Therapy.
